Record data lives in Firestore. Attachments live on your NAS at Source Ledger / Client Files / client id, one folder per client, reached over your private network. The two are keyed together by the client id, so the paper trail survives even if a carrier or CRM goes away.
Files never pass through Firestore. The token is sent in a header and files open through a local blob, so it never lands in a URL or browser history.
